“Aurora’s character portraits have my heart.”

About Aurora Wheeler Pfaff
I am a writer and editor based in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. A lifelong reader and devoted collector of books, I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts from the Harvard Extension School, where I studied Victorian literature, in particular the works of George Eliot and the influence of science on 19th-century literature.
As a freelance writer, I have been published in Adirondack Life, Majesty, Adirondack Explorer, LOCAL adk, New York Archives, and Beyond Words Literary Magazine. In all of my writing, I try to offer the reader something special to connect to through unique places and tiny moments.
My first book, the photo-rich Aviation in the Adirondacks, was published in June 2024. Some
of the best things that came out of the experience were the encounters I had with aviation enthusiasts of all ages, who happily shared their own stories.
I currently have a memoir about taking care of my amazing grandmother, who suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease, simmering on the back burner. It’s an important story, but one I am taking my time with. In the meantime, I am researching and writing a biography of Princess Victoria of Wales, an underappreciated princess if there ever was one.
I love projects that take me places physically and metaphorically, from the tundra to Victorian England to local libraries, where I teach writing workshops.
